Preliminary Video.
The preliminary video was a rather challenging for our group,
this was to do with the failure of our first filming (in which has been addressed
in another post) this in turn has given us a more prepared approach towards the
main task we have to accomplish. We also have come together more as a group,
working as efficiently together as possible allocating our roles (we are
keeping the similar roles we shared in the preliminary in the main task also)
our group consists of Dee, Simon and I. I helped Simon with the filming as Dee
wrote the script, story board and kept the continuity in check, making sure
that there were no continuity mistakes. Dee had a burden on her shoulders
taking on so many roles at once, although she came through successful our
groups is thankful to her, as well as Dean and Tyler from another group who’s
input helped us, we also owe them our thanks.
Post Production and editing was the most interesting part of
the preliminary, we added over a slight humorous sound file which Simon put
over the clip using premier pro, he found the programme to be a little
difficult but enjoyable to use. Although with the improvements we made, we
still had a rather negative feedback from our teacher in which we have learnt
from and now know the progress which we need to make in order to achieve the
best product we can this consist of: making our shots a lot more fluent in the
cuts and transitions from one to another, as the current shots we had were a
little rough around the edges in terms of cuts. On top of this we also need to
have a more variety in shots and finally the 180 degree rule was unintentionally
broken during the scene of speech between the two characters.
The mistakes we have made will surely be fixed in future
work, this has given the entire group a new attitude to be more achieved at
towards the main task, as we now have a sense of knowledge more towards the
task, we’re thinking of dabbling with more interesting and obscure shots, edits
and lighting effects to be able to produce the best and interesting piece we
can. We also are going to be much more aware of the 180 degree rule too.
The following is my Preliminary task script of interaction between an interviewer and int
MIDDAY
Interviewer walks down from stairs to a corridor formally. he opens a door to his office and walks into in, sits down and looks at his sheet looking busy. he calls over the next candidate for the available position.
Interviewer: Hello, have a seat please.
Interviewee: Yes thank you (both participants shake hands firmly)
Interviewer: (looks at interviewee cv) so barry you want a job at my club as a bouncer?! Barry, what makes you think you're ready for this job
Interviewee:As you can see on my CV it shows that I'm ready and I have enough experience for it.
